Volunteer opportunity: Fight Food Insecurity at Hebrew Union College Community Kitchen
On Monday, May 10, 2026, members of the Jewish Affinity group volunteered at the Hebrew Union College Community Kitchen. Ms Mazor, along with six students: Cate C. ‘27, Sally P. ‘26, Antonia A. ’27, Bari E. ‘27, Ruby S. ‘27, and Nolan F. ‘28, walked to the kitchen after school and volunteered for two and a half hours. The kitchen serves members of the community who struggle with food insecurity. We helped set up the tables before the guests arrived, served the food, wiped down all of the chairs after the guests left, unset the tables, and vacuumed the floors
Until this week, the community kitchen has operated indoors on Mondays, but starting on Monday, May 25th, it will switch to outdoor service. Volunteering at this kitchen is an amazing opportunity to get involved with the community. Even if you do not identify as Jewish, the kitchen still welcomes your service.
