Three New Spots

Grace is located in an area full of lots of different restaurants. There are great restaurants in the area, and three new places just opened. They are all located within walking distance from school and are great to go to before school, during advisory or at lunch.

Danny Meyer has decided to open a new Shake Shack in the IBM building across from Cooper Union.  This is by far the best new addition to our neighborhood.
Oddly, there was no Shake Shack located conveniently near GCS.  Because this Shake Shack is brand new, it has a really nice and open space.  The best time to go is from 1-2, because the line can get very long at 12.  It can also be hard to get a table at lunch and after school.

Happy Bowls is a new and upcoming acai bowl place, started in Montauk NY. Tyler Davis, brother of professional surfer, Quincy Davis, started this fun spot, and it was first opened in 2013. In the last month, Happy Bowls, has opened a brand new location at: 61 4th Avenue, just a two minute walk from school! They’re most popular dish is an acai bowl. It consists of a base of acai berry mixed with any juice of your choice, personally I like it mixed with pineapple juice. You then can choose from a large array to toppings. It’s a healthy, as well as delicious snack.

The new Astor Place Cafe has just opened right on Astor Place, right down the block from school! It’s a new little kiosk that sells coffee (Mud Coffee), tea, smoothies and lots of pastries. There are lots of tables and chairs right next to it to relax and enjoy your beverage or snack. It is great to pick up on the way to school or during advisory. Go check it out!
