Photographs from the Women’s March NYC

Declan Slonim ’19 photographed the Women’s March in New York City on January 21.

I distinctly remember being inspired when I heard that my friend’s brother had gone out on his bike to take pictures of the Black Lives Matter protests that took place at night. I have always found a great respect and incentive when seeing or hearing about investigative photographers. I think it’s because, not only do you record history, but you go on an adventure as well. A few years have past since that moment when I heard about the women’s march in New York. I quickly got on a Citi Bike and went straight to the heart of the protest with my camera. There was a feeling of satisfaction as I biked around the city trying to get the best angle of the monumental moment that took place that day.
