Grace and Clubs: Passion Outside The Classroom

At Grace, students pursue their passions and interests through clubs, sports teams, and affinity spaces. The school offers a plethora of clubs, including Political Activism and Ethical Hacking, as well as several sports teams, from Basketball to Tennis.
Stella L.G. ‘27 explained that she is a student ambassador, a peer leader, and last year was the Club Leader for Knitting and Crochet. Technically, she is also a member of the Red Cross club, which is put in air quotes. Stella laughed, “I am on the roster, certainly on the roster.”
Similarly, Anaika M. ‘27 is a member of numerous clubs and sports teams. This season, she was on Grace’s Squash Team and is in line to be the team’s captain next year as a senior. Anaika is nominally in the Red Cross club, but, like Stella, she put her membership in air quotes.
At the same time, clubs and affinity spaces provide students with opportunities to reflect on their personal identities.
Anika V. ‘27 is the peer leader of Grace’s Asian Affinity group. Anika feels that this club “is really a unifying front for Asian people” at Grace. Additionally, Anika is a member of the Grace Theater Company, where she has been the lead in past school productions. She feels that “as a lead, I am pretty knowledgeable about theater.” She enjoys mentoring younger members of the company and, hopefully, spreading her advice.
At Grace, whether it is the performing arts or supporting the Red Cross, Grace students are involved in myriad clubs, affinity spaces, and organizations.
