Grace High School’s 4th floor is finally open.
With the new school year upon us, Grace has a fantastic new 4th floor which includes classrooms, a new fitness room, offices, the addition of an athletic trainer and what we’ve all been waiting for: the brand new gym.
The gym opened on September 17th and is already packed to the brim with students, using the space for many different activities from playing basketball, soccer, and volleyball to hanging out in the bleachers and watching home games. In addition to the gym opening, new locker rooms, a fitness room, and a brand new golf simulator have also been added. Not only have athletic facilities been added, but three new classrooms and a woodshop have as well. The new resources show that Grace has the intention of elevating its athletics while also creating the best learning environment for its students.
Students seem to be loving the new additions:
Adrian Di Carlo ’20 said, “I think the golf simulator is a great way for the golf team to practice offseason”
Julia Kramberg ’20 said, “I really like the gym, but it seems to be geared more towards basketball than volleyball
Chase Gardner ’20:” I really like the new gym and I feel that the facilities are up to par with the best in the city.
Declan Slonim ’19 said, “I really liked the new machines especially the peloton bike”
Ms. Carpenter said “I think the best thing about the fourth floor is the skylight that has been created and the natural light it provides for the stairwell. The wood box under the windows of the fourth floor shows the modern look that the school was going for. The building has evolved as our population increased it is like watching your puppy or child grow up.”
