GraceCast Episode 1: If You Close Your Eyes
The Winter Series performance, directed by Emma Seitz ‘20 and Niamh O’Hara ‘21 titled “If You Close Your Eyes”, is a play that shines a spotlight on the tragedies that have occurred in the US and that will continue to occur within schools. Taking place in a classroom where an active shooter threatens five students, Niamh and Emma highlight the catastrophic effects gun laws have had specifically on schools, which have resulted in gun violence becoming the second leading cause of death amongst adolescents in the United States. Niamh and Emma sit down with me to discuss how they went about creating the play, and the message they hope all high schoolers hear above all else.
