First, the team made its mark at the NYCAL regular-season championships, co-winning the league title with Trevor Day School, and then went on to dominate at Columbia University, claiming the 2025 postseason NYCAL Championships. This historic run represents the program’s best performance to date.
According to co-captain Zarina M. ‘26, the team’s quest for success began long before the season even started—many players, particularly Grace and Nora ‘28, dedicated their summer to honing their skills. In addition, Nora and her family hosted the team at their Connecticut home for pre-season training, where they received guidance from the women’s tennis coach at Wesleyan University, one of the top women’s tennis programs in the country. Captains Zarina and Chloe also prioritized team bonding, organizing team dinners to foster social dynamics.
This season was not only a breakthrough for the team, but also for individual players. Nora shared that although she initially felt less confident in singles, since playing doubles last season, her teammates and coaches have rallied around her, helping her gain confidence and achieve success on the court.
Through consistency, hard work, team bonding, and mutual support, the 2025 girls’ tennis team achieved remarkable success, setting a high standard for future seasons and inspiring the next generation of players to follow in their footsteps.
