BBar & Grill

The gooey and delicious mac & cheese with pancetta is only the beginning to the extraordinary and exquisite food offered at BBar. Just a two minute walk from Grace Church School, BBar is located at the corner of 4th street between the Bowery and Lafayette. With this prime Lower East Side location, this fun spot attracts customers from all over and with a range of age groups. With a delicious, as well as affordable menu varying from Mexican to French to American food, there are almost too many options to choose from!

You can’t help but feel at home when you step foot inside this naturally-lit restaurant. Bbar has two seating areas, the first being inside and open all year round with big, comfy banquettes and tables. The other is an outside courtyard filled with couches, chairs, tables, as well as many trees growing through the open roof, giving the restaurant a natural feel to it, and it is open during the warmer months. As you sit down, you will see mirrors on all of the walls as well as lamps all over, giving the restaurant a French-bistro feel. With impeccable service, you will get your food with promptness and hospitality.

When was the last time you had chips and guac at a restaurant that also serves salmon and steak? Well, BBar can be your first time, with their chips and guac being a customer favorite. BBar has managed to not only capture the authentic guacamole taste that usually would only be found at a restaurant that solely serves Mexican food but is also able to serve it with entrees that are nothing like it, but still make it all work. Whether you order a burger, salad, or fish, the guac and chips never disappoints as a fitting appetizer. With the perfect ratio of tomatoes, onion, salt, and, of course, avocado, this guacamole is unbeatable. Always served with their home-baked corn chips, this dip makes a perfect stomach-settler as you’re waiting for your main course.

Looking for a good entree? The Bowery Burger is a great meal for anytime of the day. It is served with sharp cheddar cheese, lettuce, perfectly cut tomatoes, and the freshest brioche bun. When cooked at a perfect medium, it will send an electric party through your mouth. One critique to mention is that, if not specified that you want your burger medium, the chef can sometimes cook it too raw. As a side, the herb infused french fries are legendary and what BBar is best known for, as they say. To top it off with their mint lemonade could never hurt.

It might be the most oozy thing on the menu, but is arguably the most delicious. It is volcanic, and sugary, with steam coming out of it. The volcano cake is to die for, and we, for two, certainly would. Once you stick your fork in the center, a volcanic, chocolate mess floods your plate. Served with vanilla ice cream, this desert is a huge attraction. At times it may be over-heated so it comes to your table already broken, but overall this is a 10/10 dessert.

Want a good filling meal, but also to have a good time? BBar gives their customers exceptional food and a chill atmosphere, but can also be seen as a great late night-weekend spot. Bbar is a place where you can get a variety of different foods, in addition to an experience you cannot get at any other New York City restaurant. When we attended the restaurant on December 10, we had both great service and food. We recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a good, filling meal as well a fun place to hangout with friends.
