In honor of National Poetry Month, Grace Church celebrated literacy with Poem-In-Your-Pocket Day! Lots of students and faculty had their favorite poems in their pockets, and some even traded poems multiple times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Abby G. ’26 was carrying Shel Silverstein’s “Hug-O-War.” “I used to do Poem-In-Your-Pocket at my old school, Packer,” Abby said. “I always choose this poem because I love it so much.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Loverude was carrying Michael McFee’s “Another Sign Off.” “I like a poem that’s a diatribe,” he said. Diatribe is a fancy word for rant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Golden had Edna St. Vincent Millay’s poem “Well, I have lost you.” Ms. Golden was reading the applications to Senior Seminar in literature, and one student referenced this poem. “I read it, and it was like a punch to the gut,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lucy R. ’27 had an excerpt of Walt Whitman’s “A Song of Myself.” “It really speaks to me,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
