But what are Grace\u2019s top picks?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-heading\"><strong>TV<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of the 89 people who voted on the <em>Gazette<\/em>\u2019s school-wide survey, 25.8 percent of them dubbed <em>Squid Game <\/em>their favorite show of the year.&nbsp; Jasmeilly A. \u201822 remarked, \u201cThis show was so entertaining and had everyone in a chokehold!\u201d It is no surprise that the Korean thriller, which recently claimed the title of \u201cMost Streamed Netflix Show\u201d according to CNET, claimed the number one spot. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnet.com\/tech\/services-and-software\/netflix-biggest-shows-and-movies-ranked-according-to-netflix\/\">CNET 2021<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:100%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/oqxAJKy0ii4?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grace\u2019s second favorite show of the year was season two of <em>Outer Banks<\/em>, amassing 14.6 percent of the votes. <em>Outer Banks <\/em>follows the story of teenagers living in North Carolina on a treasure hunt and was initially released in the spring of 2020. The show has recently blown up and made many of the actors household names.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tied for the third spot are Marvel\u2019s <em>Wandavision <\/em>and the Netflix original <em>Lupin<\/em>, with 7.9 percent of total votes each. <em>Wandavision <\/em>follows the romantic lives of two superheroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU): Wanda, known as the Scarlet Witch, and Vision, hence the name. Jayanth C. \u201825 reasoned, \u201cThe way martial arts were showcased in the movie was amazing.\u201d As the top grossing domestic movie of 2021, it seems natural for <em>Shang-Chi<\/em> to be the most popular (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.boxofficemojo.com\/year\/2021\/\">Box Office Mojo 2021<\/a> ).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8YjFbMbfXaQ?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following <em>Shang-Chi<\/em>, the second most popular movie was the newly-released <em>Spider-Man: No Way Home. <\/em>As the third movie of Tom Holland\u2019s Spider-Man trilogy, Peter Parker is exposed to a multi-verse of villains from movies of the previous Spider-Man movies. Spider-Man is expected to make hundreds of millions of dollars on its opening weekend (Dec. 18 &amp; 19), and to possibly exceed <em>Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings <\/em>in gross profit.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grace\u2019s third favorite movie of 2021 was a draw between <em>Dune<\/em> and <em>Luca<\/em>\u2013 each claiming 7.3 percent of votes. HBO\u2019s <em>Dune, <\/em>featuring a star-studded cast with Zendaya and Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, tells the story of Paul Atreides and his interstellar travels. Ronan J. \u201824 loved the movie, gushing that it was \u201cso mesmerizing.\u201d <em>Luca, <\/em>presented by Pixar, is a lighthearted movie for the whole family. Grace voted Doja Cat\u2019s <em>Planet Her <\/em>as their number one pick of the year, receiving 16 percent of total votes. Doja Cat\u2019s third album, released on June 25th, is a skillful blend of pop, R&amp;B, and hip hop styles. The album spent four weeks at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and smashed Spotify records for the biggest opening day for an album by a female rapper (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/artist\/doja-cat\/\">Billboard<\/a> 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Spotify Embed: Planet Her (Deluxe)\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; fullscreen; picture-in-picture\" src=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/embed\/album\/4XLPYMERZZaBzkJg0mkdvO?si=MHgHj94TQtu0gbnKgg25Gw&#038;utm_source=oembed\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Red (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em> by Taylor Swift earned second place in favorite albums, collecting over 11 percent of responses. This album, released on November 12th, is a re-recording of Swift&#8217;s fourth studio album, <em>Red<\/em>. The album featured a 10-minute-long version of \u201cAll Too Well\u201d accompanied by six new &#8220;vault songs&#8221; (songs that were recorded but not released at the time). The album topped charts across the world as well as broke several commercial records including both the Spotify record for the highest single-day streams for an album by a female artist as well as breaking the record for the highest vinyl LP sales on release week (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/taylor-swift-fearless-taylors-version-billboard-200-return-number-1\/\">Billboard<\/a> 2021).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><em>Call Me If You Get Lost<\/em> by Tyler the Creator, the sixth studio album by the American rapper and producer, was a close third, receiving exactly 11 percent of total votes. This grammy-nominated mixtape debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/pro\/tyler-the-creator-call-me-if-you-get-lost-number-one-billboard-200-chart\/\">Billboard<\/a> 2021). The album is a mix of styles, featuring Tyler the Creator\u2019s signature storytelling and soulful musical signature with hints of the raw attitudes of his early work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-spotify wp-block-embed-spotify wp-embed-aspect-21-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Spotify Embed: CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST\" style=\"border-radius: 12px\" width=\"100%\" height=\"380\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen allow=\"autoplay;
