This year some of our high schoolers submitted their work to the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards in hopes of gaining recognition for their hard work. The Scholastic Awards are given out to students in grades 7-12 who demonstrate excellence in one of 29 art and writing categories. Students can win regional and national awards depending on their area of submission. Thousands of students all over the U.S. submit to the competition, and this year Grace had three winners!<\/span><\/p>\n

Drew Lerner \u201821, submitted work to the photo competition and won a gold medal and honorable medal in the regional competition and a silver in the national competition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Camryn Dixon \u201821, submitted work to the writing competition and received a gold medal in both the regional and national competitions. Her essay on the roots of racism in the healthcare industry also won the Civic Expression Award and a $1000 scholarship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Naaz Valvani \u201822, submitted work to the photography competition and won a silver medal in the regional competition as well as an honorable mention.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
